xbox coming on tele screen in black and white

Rca cables plugged in all the way into the tv? and is the other end of that cable plugged completely in on the xbox?

judging by vocab i'm guess you're in th uk ;) and therefore got a pal tv and xbox- possibly they've switched the video mode from pal to ntsc, and without an rgb scart cable you may get a black and white picture, if Snatchy's suggestion hasn't worked

Temp solution would be to change it back to Pal using the Enigmah video mode switcher (could be on your xbox already under apps) other wise get it from one of the "usual places"

more permanent solution that'll solve the problem in ntsc mode would be to get the advanced scart kit or the one of the generic rgb scart cables (m$ one has optical out as well but costs about £20, the one by joytech (bleurgh) doesn't and can be picked up for about a tenner), some games depending on where you got em might only work in ntsc mode.
