PS2 Disk tray sticking on eject. Any solutions?

I just got a version 7 Messiah2 chipper PS2 and have noticed that when ejecting the cd drawer it sticks slightly. This is not a major problem but on my old version 3 it slid out nicely. Also when pressing eject the drawer sticks a bit when going back in.

Is this anything to be worried about? Or is it something that needs oiling inside?

Everything plays nicely and there is no problems with loading. I just don't want the thing to burn out because of the eject problem

The tray can be realigned, probably just needs a little adjustment. Search the web for laser assembly pics, shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

This hasn't been dropped at all. Don't really fancy opening the laser assembly as it sounds very complicated.

I have heard that a bad solder on the chipping could also cause this so I think I will return this to the trader that sold me this duff one.

The tray is pretty easy to readjust the front assembly comes apart with one screw after you get the tray off and you slide the White are with the teeth all the way to the end and reapply the rubberband and that should do it
