Hi

Basically my old faithfull LG burner which came bundled with my pc has died. So after reading on here i purchased a Pioneer 116D as recommended.

Anyway plugged here in and away to go. It burns games fully and has never failed but on playback in 360 with Sammy drive i keep getting vlen disc error?

I use CloneCD to burn with standard layer break. I also set it to x1 speed although it ALWAYS rises above this (and used to with my old LG drive). I also shut down all other apps whilst burning.

I only use Verbs or Aone and have never had probs on playback until now.....

Any ideas on what the problem is peeps ?

Cheers

About 70% of discs are going to waste

Burn with verify option (if Clone doesn't have one, use ImgBurn). Without using verify, you never really know if your DVD burn is valid or not anyway. If it verifies ok and you still get the error, then your 360 laser may have issues and at least we have a place to start for troubleshooting. :)

Hi

The discs are not failing at the burning stage and do show up as game in my 360. It's just when i select to play them i get clean disc etc

I always used clonecd with no probs at all in my old burner ?

I have tested the them in another machine with exact the same problem ?

I havwe IMGBurn to try but i am slowly running out of discs. All the discs i have been using are x2.4 Verbs.

What should the layer break be in imgburn ( ithink i altered it before for ssbb on wii )

Any other ideas ?

Thanks

The layer break for all 360 games is 1913760

If you know the discs and the machine are fine then it sounds like you have a faulty burner. I burn all my own games at MAX speed and they work fine.

roman-28, where are you getting these games from that they don't already have a *.dvd file (which contains the layer break info that mp3boy gave you)? Also once again, an error-free burn means nothing if you don't verify. I know most people skip the verify but if you are having troubles the quickest way to solution is to rule out certain things. Of course it really could be the burner but it's unlikely if the burner is brand new (not impossible, but unlikely).
