Most games you will download will already be correctly stealth patched, but if you get yourself a program called xdvdmulleter, this will check the games iso, for stealth files, region etc. It will also fix the image if there is a problem, well most of the time.
As for burning a game, i use image burn and you just select the dvd file when you download the game and most of the time your burn speed will always be 2.4x, which is what a lot of people recommend to burn at. You could always use clonecd as well, as far as im concerned they both as good as each other.
it takes about 45 mins for a game to burn, and i wouldnt advice using your computer while a game is burning, just leave it to complete.
Think thats about everything you would need to know. anyone else feel free to add.

Ditto what Benvo said aside from the bit about not using your PC. I wouldn't do anything that's too memory intensive (unraring another 360 game for example) but surfing the net, checking emails, unraring tv shows, watching movies etc. is fine while burning. :)
