help with virgin and router please!

hi all, im getting 54mbps when i connect with wireles router but 100mbps when wired, im on 20meg bb? 1 linksys live help guy said i need firmware ugrade from v7 but there isnt 1? and another said i need a faster router? should i not be showing 200mbps wired, and what router supports this speed? i like my linksys had very few probs and the talked me through port forwatding so may buy a another from them?

You are confused.
Most router are 100Mbps only, so max you get on wire is 100 on 'local connection speed', your broadband speed is different, so if you are getting 20 from Virgin (You be lucky), then thats how fast you can download, regardless if you are on wore or wireless.

Do a speedtest on www.speedtest.net (http://www.speedtest.net)
If you are getting around 20Mb for your internet, then do nothing, you have all already.
