I have my pc setup beside my plasma in my living room. Problem is how to control it. I have a media centre remote for using mediaportal.

I want to use internet etc, but I end up with a wire running across the room for my keyboard and mouse.

1. I could run a long usb extension cable ?
(Needs DC powered hub as its too far, about 16 ft)

2. I could get cat5 to usb adaptors
(Bit pricey)

3. I could get a wireless usb hub
(way to pricey)

4. I could get a regular wireless keyboard and mouse.
(I've tried 2 fairly ok ones, but they keep missings strokes and eat batteries)

Anyone recommend a good one or any other ideas ?

Not sure what your budget is, but I also use the one above and it works fine for me. Not had it long enough to know how long the batteries will last? Mine does though....need a fairly good line of signal between the keyboard and USB dongle (no furniture obstructing). Check out the reviews and video on the page below.

Thanks for replies. I ended up getting one of these thingy's! $24. I have loads of cat5 cable and I end up with a wired setup. Girlfriend demanded a proper mouse as she hates touchpads and it will be her using it, so got this to shut her up.

I will get that keyboard/touchpad for my other room though. Looks ideal for me.

(Never noticed mmace's post of ps/2 extension cable before I bought! Would have been much cheaper/easier)
