swap magic/cd loader question

i've been trying to search for a definate answer on this but can't find the info i'm looking for!

i have a ps2 with a neo 2.2 chip.i use swap magic 2.0 cd/dvd to boot cdr & dvdr backups.

now let's for example take a dvdr backup of the game 'mafia'. looking at http://www.swapmagicfix.com/ it says i need to use cd loader to get this working on my ps2?

can you only use cd loader if you have a flip top or slide card?

basically will my combo of ps2/neo 2.2 chip/swap magic discs beable to play 'mafia' as i can't get it to boot :confused:

With a neo 2.2 you can only get the tray to open once automatically so you would have to use a fliptop or slidecard or just leave the top off your ps2
