Yabb is free but you need a cgi bin.

don't have a cgibin? you can get one remotely hosted from that site too.

I use an IRC chat room that connects to IRC, doesn't require a cgi bin & no ads no porn.

Doe your host not have a php chatroom option? most good ones do now-u cud just install that and there ya go-chat room on your site.
