Router Default Page??

OK I have been asked to setup a Free internet Connection at a B&B. I have noticed that most Internet Hotspots take you to a Default Homepage no matter what you set your page to in your browser. How is this done? Is it done through the router firmware or another way??

Any help with this would be great :)

It uses a Proxy to re-direct you to whatever webpage they desire. It can be done with custom firmware on router or with a stand-alone system running Linux or Windows and acting like a router. Do an internet search on "Setup WiFI Hotspot"
