Changelog:

This update only adds new media. Neither are current writing strategies changed, nor were there any software changes to resolve compatibility issues with writing software.

This update does not enable dual layer burning.

The following media were added to the firmware, but they are not added to the list of recommended media, as we cannot guarantee optimal results concerning writing/erasing and Reading.

And there is also a hacked firmware for better writing speeds, currently writing 4x Ritek @ 6x

There is, done by a mod @ CDFreaks IIRC.

Cannot find a link for that one so if you see it plz post. :)

Very good firmware, but be aware that it does expose some bugs in Nero. With the Herrie firmwares, different software to Nero is recommended really.

I wouldn't suggest using herries firmware. I had never had a coaster until I put beta 9a on my burner. After that I had 4 coasters in a row. I then tried putting on beta 7. With that one I got a bad burn about 1 out of every 2 disks.
Check out cd freeks there are many people having problems.

That's the risk you take with beta stuff ...... you have to be prepared to test it for everyone else .... warts & all ;)
