hi guys
i have a cd rewriter and a pioneer dvd burner ...in your opion guys what should be the master and what should be the slave????
i also need to know where about the little pins that are on the back of the burner go,,,
someone plz help:yell1:

the four fat pins are for the PSU (power supply unit)
the long (40 pin i think) is for the IDE cable (big grey ribbon)
and the 8 pins are where u select master/slave/cable select
i think the other four are for an audio cable

I's normally best to have the DVD Burner as the Master and the CD Burner as the Slave.

By the little pins ... I assume you are talking about the jumpers.
On the Pioneer the jumper should be on the far right (MA), next to the IDE socket.
The CD Burner should be set to the pins next to this (SL) centre position normally.

Often there will be markings on the case or on a label :
MA = Master, SL = Slave ..... ignore CS (Cable Select)

Can i ask Why Have the DVD Burner as Master when its Slower..

I have a LiteOn DVDRom (Fast) NEC DVD Burner (slow) LiteOn CDR/W Burner (slow)...Mines at DVDRom (Master), LiteOn CDR Burner (Slave) on IDE1....DVD Burner on PCI ATA100 as Master......How would U set them up, n Why Please...

Would you put 3 Hard Disks on the PCI ATA100 & the others on IDE0 & IDE1!!?
