It is a Digitrex DSC3000 3.2Megapixel digital camera. I am not looking for a camera with all of the bells and whistles here. Just something that takes decent quality photos. Officemax has it on sale this week for $70USD (no rebates needed) and I am giving serious consideration to it. I have read a few reviews for it on the net but I would prefer people's personal experiences from this site if possible. I know this is made by Apex (yes, the same people who make the DVD Players). Here is a direct link to it and it's specs:

My current cheap-o camera just isn't going to cut it. With quality like these why bother.

It should be noted that the last pic is the best quality pic that I have had with this POS of mine.

Nevermind. After taking a look at some of the reviews at epinions, I decided it isn't worth it. It doesn't even have a viewfinder and it has some very mixed reviews about it. I guess I will do a little more research but at this point I think my two top contenders are the Kodak CX7300 (I think that is the model) and the Canon A300.

The prices of the A70 are dropping the UK, which is the 3M version of the highly rated A60. I would assume the prices over the water will be dropping also, as the A75 is now out.
I've always been a little wary of the Kodaks, have a reputation for being quite basic. My sister in law has one which cost about £100 3 months ago, and it's not great. Not a patch on my A60 anyway.

The A70 is still horribly overpried here. Over $200. The A300 can be had for $150 right now.

I got the nikon 2100 gift set at office depot. $124 comes with a 128m card (says 65 on the box but inside 128M), batteries, charger, etc.

If the model number means anything, that is only a 2.1 MP model though, isn't it? *EDIT* Nevermind I went with the Canon A300. Turns out I had more money than I thought to be able to spend so I figured I would go with the best camera that you can get for $150 or less. I just wasn't comfortable buying a camera that no one has reviewed and it seems to be one of those "good camera for the money deals." (kinda like the one listed above). So I would imagine that there are some very mixed opinions on the camera. The A300 on the other hand has recieved pretty solid reviews everywhere I have looked.

If the a300 had an optical zoom it would be a great camera :(
Nice cat BTW

WTF? The digital zoom on the A300 isn't bad at all. I don't see why people complain about it not having an optical zoom. Take it for what it is. An outstanding camera for well under $200. BTW yeah, my cat is a fat old furball. He was born with a Tuxedo-like fur pattern so he is overdressed for just about every occassion.

PhotoShop has very good digital zoom too, im not saying its a bad camera at all, but an optical zoom is very usefull :)
Thanks for the info on your cat too

No, I agree. I just think that people are overly critical of the camera and pick apart every little thing. I am just saying that it is an excellent camera for those who aren't hardcore photographers. I still challange someone to find me a better camera (picture quality and features) for $150USD or less. ;)

$3K? I could buy a VERY nice digital video camera for that price.
Yeah, from what I have read Canon and Sony seem to be the two most recommended for overall picture quality.

If you work for a store (or know somebody) that sells HP products, you can join www.hpinfolab.com (http://www.hpinfolab.com) and get one of these for $60.00 US after the rebate, cuz newegg sells for $410.00 no shipping / tax and you can earn a $350.00 rebate. I got one and its pretty friggin good.....especially for that price.

Well that would've been nice. Oh well, I am content with my canon and the $150 I paid for it. I already saw the reviews on the Digitrex (Apex) and that is why I decided to go with the Canon instead. One thing that really bugged me about it (despite the mixed reviews about picture quality) was the fact that there wasn't a viewfinder on it. That would be a real pain to keep glancing down at the LCD and snapping shots with it. Even my POS $10 Digital camera had a viewfinder on it.

OK... $150? Right? Sounds great for a 3.2, I just don't like all the blurring that goes on with digital cameras unless there's a zoom. I've had my fill of them. I just want one that takes good pictures! :)

Just bought an Olympus D-580 for the missus that's a 4.0 megapixel camera. Not sure what the price is down in Yankland but try Googling it and see what sort of prices come up. Got it 2 days ago and it's a nice camera. First one we've had though, so don't go by my advice, lol.

It doesn't have an optical zoom but it does have up to a 5.1x digital zoom and to be honest the digital zoom works just fine. I have done a couple of shots with it and they turned out great. ;)
