Hi
I want to setup Wireless networking that can share files and internet connection between 2 computers, and want it nice and cheap
Ive heard that you can connect via 2 PCI wirless cards, which is cheaper than an router, but something about a peer 2 peer which i am not very familiar with as im a newbie at networking
Anyone help

It should be fairly simple. You just set up your network cards in ad-hoc mode, same workgroup, and by a miracle, you should see the other computers files.

I think you might wanna go for a wireless router also. As far as my knowledge goes, I don`t think you will be able to ad-hoc and go on the Internet at the same time with these. So my recommendation is get a wireless router. f.ex this: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=60654

If you have a extra network card where the internet connection is, it might be possible. I am not sure. I have a router and 2 wireless cards myself at home, and have never tested it the way you describe it. Buy a cheap 108 Mbps router, and youre home safe

bono_head (http://www.dvdrom-guide.com/forums/member.php?u=689) vbmenu_register("postmenu_13605", true); someone has recommanded me to buy lik 2 network cards and they said it work a treat but you have to have the one that has the internet turned on to have the other one working on internet

Im 90% sure that with just 2 wireless cards you could only share a dial up connection, not a broadband one, dunno which you have
A broadband connection would require a broadband router
Not 100% sure but almost

I can only repeat what I earlier said: I am not sure, but I don`t think that it is possible to share a internet connection. I think that a router would have to be in order for communicating through the Internet. Buy a router, and set up a small network in the house. That`s my advice.
