Help please...poss virus...

Pc started freezing and slowing up. I have a firewall and all emails are scanned. The only poss prob is i left messenger on by mistake at the weekend!!

anyway... I have run pennicilin and it removed some virusses... ran avg and it has 2 viruse.when i try to remove it freezes.tried this a few times now.. it says start page possibly infected or somat like!!!....

anybody any ideas what is wrong????

with an error to do with the startpage it sounds like the registry key for IE's homepage. try running spybot and if no joy.....

run AVG from safe mode as it is always advisable to run an AV with as little running as possible.

just used spybot and it removed alot of stuff.. still comes up with the virus with avg and still the same. tried starting in safe mode and running av but it wudnt open avg up!! any other ideas..im stumped!!

right...earlier avg let me delete the two files and then it ran without finding owt. Just come back to pc and penicillin has found TROJ_BRISS.H

sorry... when I say run from Safe Mode this is only if you want to remove a virus. I know that sounds bizarre, as you will always want to remove it but...

for the investigation process it doesn't matter what is running, but for removal it is best to run in safe mode as less drivers/software are running, and hence the dll's which usually get infected are less likely to be in use, so paving the way for better disinfection.

and one in windows...infamous.exe


avg wont get rid either!!!!!!

any ideas?
