Hi, my brother has ordered the following items and I`m unsure as to whether they are going to be compatible.

This mother board - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/138959

Along with this processor - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131823

Reading the specs of the motherboard it doesnt seem to support Quad core technology.

Could anyone confirm/negate my opinion so I can take the appropriate action?

If anyone could recommend a suitable board from the above mentioned site as well which will suit the chosen CPU, that`d be excellent too.

Many thanks for all help.

From the looks of the ASRock website, it only supports dual core, not quad core so I would agree with your prognosis. This isn't massively surprising as it has an i945 chipset.

Being a current Asus mobo owner I think their normal range of mobo's have gone downhill using the P35 chipset.

Personally I have seen good reviews and would recommend the following.

ConRoe1333-eSATA2

Compatible with all FSB1333/1066/800/533MHz CPUs except Quad Core.

Unless you have specific needs for a quad core processor (currently note widely supported by many applications), I would recommended a dual core CPU.

Compare performances with applicable or similar applications at Tom's Hardware CPU Comparison Charts (http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/processors/3d-studio-max-9,369.html).

The E8400 Wolfdale is a solid performer.

I would echo the sentiments of TierraDelFuego.
For a little bit more the board he recommended is heads and shoulders above your original choice and would support Quad Core, if so desired.

Good overclocking capabilities as well.
