replacing xbox laser lens

anyone have experience doing this at all.. My concern is that , there is more to it than just swapping components, do things have to be "tuned" as well?

Any I have done, I have changed the whole drive. Never seen just the lens for sale.The whole process only takes a coupleof minutes

I would do like duplicitous said and change the whole drive. I'm not sure what a laser costs, but you can pick up a whole new drive for $50 or so.
