Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000

I have just bought a Microsoft Lifecam VX-6000 webcam second hand and it come with no driver disc .
he problem i have is getting it to install on my pc i have downloaded the latest software from microsoft ( 1.04 ) and when i plug the web cam in it just keeps asking for a driver , no matter what i do i can not get it installed on my system ( XP ) .

I would appreciate any help regards the above and although my forst thoughts was the webcam was faulty it windows does see it and now i believe it to be a software problem .

Thanks for your time but i have already tried the above which installs the webcam software but not the driver .

My head has been in bits never had so much trouble from a webcam and it's going to go in the skip in the next 24hrs .

Can not be broke as windows detects it but asks for the driver when plugged in ,i have even tried on 2 other pc's.
