Not just any intranet site though.

Im building a network for a project and I want dvd's to be ripped to the server and then for clients to be able to stream them over the network

Thats fine, all works, except the clients have to go into the drive and find the files to open.

What I want to do is have an intranet site when they open IE, showing a list of movies on the server and allowing them to just double click them or click open which would start their DVD prog playing it

Kinda like a FTP site, in the way u can see all the files, but just in a window, embedded into a webpage. Would prefer just a load of buttons for them to click though

Anyway what do I need to accomplish this if it is possible? Obviously straight HTML isnt gonna do all this so what else? If I know what I need then I can start learning and attempting it

Any help appreciated :)

That's really strange that you should ask this ... as I was playing around, trying to achieve this on my Network, so as my daughter could select movies to play.

I managed a degree of success by creting a playlist in Power DVD (for each movie) and adding all the vobs for the movie to it. Then I created a simple webpage, listing the movies and created hyperlinks to the Playlists.

This seems to work fine for me .... hopefully this makes sense and may give you some ideas ;)

I should mention .... by doing it this way, you lose the normal chapter points in the movies. These get replaced with a chapter point for each vob file.
