I purchased a pack of compatible Epson r265 carts for my printer but it will not accept them, saying they are not Epson products.I have followed the makers instructions when fitting and even tried to install them a number of times as they suggest, all to no avail. Is there any way to get my printer to accept them?I do not want to pay what Epson are charging or buy some more compats if they do not work either.
There is no branding on the compats box which I believe came from E*ay but from a seller with a lot of positive feedback.

Thanks

depends when your printer was made. if it was after 1 march 2007, epson did something to make it recognize non epson carts. the compats makers got around it, and there are different version compatibles. if you buy from svp or similar they'll help you out with which ones you need. i think its v3 carts you want, also the 1st time you change from originals to compats you may need to change the set.

taken from the svp website:-
Not all Epson printers are the same, so not all Epson printers will accept all varieties of compatible ink cartridges. This is not isolated to our brands of inks, but to compatible inks in general.
These particular unbranded Epson cartridges are compatible with all Epson R265, R285, R360, RX560, RX585 and RX685 printers, including the newer models that have been modified by Epson (manufactured after 01 March 2007)

although looking at the reviews, it's hit or miss. at least with svp, they'll replace if any problem
