Got a bond that matures in June some time and have decided to get a laptop with the money as im off to uni soon. I have had a look at which are availible now and the best seems the Aspire 1714SMi, specs are:
Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 3.4GHz, Microsoft® Windows® Home Edition, 17.0" SXGA TFT display, 120GB HDD, 1024MB DDR, 56Kbps modem, wired 10/100/1000 and integrated wireless LAN (802.11g), 128MB nVidia GeForce FX Go5700, DVD-Supermulti, Li-Ion battery, 6-in-1card reader (£1418)
Can any one find better? The minimum specs i want are basicly the same as above, would like wide screen though. This will be mainly a desktop replacement so im not after any of the super mobile centrino laptops.
Budget is £1500-1600
