Hi,

I have a Dell Vostro 200 and am attampting to fit a new 8800GT graphics card. The Card fits in the machine no problems, however I have a weired power connecter plug. Its neither Molex or PCI. I think it must be a Dell unique type.

Has anyone had this problem and if so is there a converter lead available?

Welcome to CompuHelp

I believe this (http://www.endpcnoise.com/cgi-bin/e/std/sku=dellconverter)is what you need.

If you want some more details regarding Dell PSUs, have a read here (http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=31105&seqNum=4) scroll down to Dell Proprietary (Nonstandard) ATX Design

Note : You may have to modify the case also.

Thanks for the info.

I've since learnt the power supply plugs are SATA.

I believe I need to purchase a new power supply ( winpower 550w has been recomended) - I will look into it to see if it will satisfy my current SATA components ie. HDD / DVD drive ect as well as providing a PCI-express power supply plug for my new graphics card.

The Winpower 550 PSU fits the bill. One problem, I can't find anywhere that sells them?

Can anyone on here point me towards a PC dealer that has one?

Who recommended this unit, as I dont think that will work with a Dell PC, without the adaptor mentioned above.
