£10 to tell what processors are supported by the system? What a rip-off! Your DC5750 will take up to an AM2 X2 6400+ (assume you have enough juice from the PSU and adequate cooling for the system and CPU.) :). Now you owe me $10 (even cheaper than what they asked for). :D

the pc is a hp/compaq dc5750There is no software that can tell you. You'll need to check the specs of the system or the motherboard from the maker's website to tell.

well thats what i thought , as thats the highest spec they sell the dc 5750 for in the usa , but in the uk the highest is 5200 ? and i can only find a data sheet saying that , i was going to buy a 6000 and if it don't work just buy a cheap motherboard, ive actually taken the m/b out of the small form factor case and put it in a normal case with a 550 psu .
cheers
the spec sheet on the uk compaq site

The DC5750 is a discontinued product and its spec sheet (from your link) was written well before the introduction of the 6000+ & 6400+ so HP/Compaq couldn't include them in the spec sheet. The system can handle the AM2 X2 processors quite well but you may have problems when running the 125W AM2 CPUs (6000+ and 6400+) because the PSU may not be powerful enough or the cooling is not adequate. In this case, just upgrade the PSU and/or the cooling. Try to get a 89W AM2 6000+ instead of a 125W 6000+.

FYI, the DC5750 is still available in the US in both pre-built and customizable versions. That's the reason you can find it with newer/faster processors here.
