I've got a Dell 531 pc with a 320gb SATA HDD running Vista.
At the moment there are 2 partions:
OS (C) : 288gb
Recovery (D) : 9.9gb

I would like to split the 288gb up into maybe 48gb for the OS and then 3 x 80gb or whatever combination you advise.

Is it possible to do this without reformatting and re-installing Vista.

Thanks

Even though Vista has its built-in partitioning tool, a 3rd party tool such as Acronis Disk Director (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/) is recommended.

thanks, i've downloaded a trial version of this to try.
Do you think 48gb will be ok for the OS ?

If possible, please give the system drive/partition about 60GB.

I've split it into 68gb for my OS and then 220gb for my files etc.

When i go to My Computer its showing that my C drive is now only 68gb instead of the original 288gb but i can't see my other 220gb listed anywhere.

Edit: I'd not given it a letter, i've given it the letter 'Q' now and its showing up (although only as 219 and not 220gb for some reason)

hopefully i can split this up into 2 or 3 other partitions now.
