Ive personally not known anyone to use nero, but clone cd, or imageburn is what i use. I use imageburn the most and works a treat.
As for second question i assume it would as the non stealth ixtreme plays games with non stealth so even it is patched it would work anyway. if thats wrong please correct me as im not 100% sure.

Just use IMGBurn or CloneCD
Im not sure how Nero handles layer breaks and as IMGBurn is freeware it doesnt run out ;)
If using CloneCD, select the .dvd file.
IMGBurn, manually set the layer break to 1913760 in Tools->options/settings->Write
Put it in the box underneath L0

1. I would recommend ImgBurn also. However, there is no need to manually set the layer break in ImgBurn. Just load the *.dvd file.
2. Yes it will work fine. the "non-stealth" simply means the firmware will play non-stealthed games as well as stealthed.
