[Vista] Access to Shared Folders

On my main PC i am sharing the folders i wish to and have changed the permission to be not password protected, however when i try to connect through on my laptop it keeps asking me for a username and password?

is there anyway to turn this off a different way?

I think you need to set a password, thats what i have found anyway.

Don't use passwords on mine and the kids' pc (XP) can see the folders they need to on mine (Vista)
I did find however that the "workgroup" name needs to be set to the same name on all the pc's that need to see each other.
Try setting it to something other than the default but remember to do this for all the pc's concerned.

Try going to Network/Network & Sharing Centre .... switch everything to "ON" except Password & Protected Sharing ...... this works for me
