Betamax or HDD Recorder connect to Computer?

Hi all, i managed to get a lead that connected the betamax to my hdd/dvd player and successfully transferred it onto the hdd, but the dvd aspect of it has packed up.
so is there any other way of getting information off a hdd onto my computer or to connect the Betamax player to the computer at all?

You'll need a video capture card like this one (http://www.leadtek.com/eng/tv_tuner/overview.asp?lineid=6&pronameid=351) to connect a video player to the PC to capture the video.
