Ps3 & Bd-r Bd-re

Right tried numerious times to get my ps3 to play avchd films but with no joy & its doing my fruit in does anyone know if the ps3 will play BD-R & BD-RE backups seems an easier solution to me

yes, the PS3 will play BD-R and BD-RE (and AVCHD - what you using to make the disc etc), have you updated the firmware since you bought it?
profile 1.0 players won't play BD-R or BD-RE

Thanx for the info i tried avchd i grabbed of ng but for some reason it didnt play all the sound iam at 2.30 firmware now & i believe theres summat do do with audio in that update , but thanx for the info ill shoot over to bst see if anyones got some BD-R on the go

the new firmware just allows DTS-MA output from Blu-rays (doesn't affect normal DTS or any of the Dolby Digitals)
