The company I work for is slowly converting to Office 2003. Right now we have a mixed environment with clients using both Outlook 2000 & 2003 at the same time. If you use Outlook 2003 then use Outlook 2000 on the same account and try to shut down Outlook 2000, it will hang at the "Outlook is closing" screen.
We have found a temporary fix which is -
Go to the system with the Outlook 2000. Shut down Outlook 2000 using Task Manager.
Go to the Start menu > Run > and type each of the below commands into the Run Command individually:
Note the path to the Outlook executable file. For example, the file may be located in the path:
c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe
Type:
(i.e. “ c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Outlook.exe” /CleanFreeBusy)
· /CleanFreeBusy
Repeat for the second command
· /CleanReminders
This fix will last a few days but the problem always comes back. Does anyone know a a more permanent solution?
