How do i format an NTFS drive

I have tried to format my hard drive using a windows 98 boot disk, but it keeps saying format not supported on this drive. Would i be okay with deleting the partition altogether and start from scratch? The OS is Windows 2000 and the file system is NTFS.

yes, delete the partition and let the O/S format the drive

Easiest way is to boot from a Win XP CD and delete or format from there.

I wasnt able to boot from cd as i wasnt able to alter the boot up sequence because the bios was all in chinese. Sorted now though, thanks for your help.
