Hi

I bought a stick of 256mb sd ram 133mhz for my computer which has a Gigabyte GA-7IXE4 motherboard and a amd duron 1.3ghz running...when i put in the 256mb stick the computer won't boot up it just stays at the checking ram part at the start...i was told i could run 133mhz sticks at 100mhz and that my board would set it as so and considering i already have 128mb stick 133mhz running fine i don't c why the 256 can't

any help appreciated please

It probably isnt supported by your board. You can try taking the old one out and just using the new stick by itself and se what happens. Is the memory CL2, CL3. The board will run a 133mhz stick at 100mhz, you just need the right stick. The best bet is going to the gigabyte website and find what sticks are compatible with the board.

Yep, the stick is probably fine, but just not compatible with your board, I have that problem alot here at work. Our bosses dont listen to us and order just one speed and brand of memory, and never take into consideration that this kinda of stuff will happen.
