Can you be banned with original game?

If my 360 has the latest ixtreme firmware and I play with an original game (as I`m only playing COD4 at the mo anyway) can microsoft still bann me?

I'm not sure anyone really knows how bans are currently detected.
Microsoft reversed some bans a while back which would suggest even they aren't sure their detection methods are reliable.
Suficed to say, the people in the know don't think that firmware is interrogated so the games (DVD+R DL discs that is) must be the weak link.

Many people are still playing back-ups online with a wide variety of firmwares and rips so that makes it all the more complicated.

I should imagine you'd be fine with a genuine game TBH, though who knows?

Thanks danman, might as well play the original when I have it, even if there is a slight possibility that it could save me being banned but I dont intend to buy any more originals. LOL. :D

yeh as danman says no one knows, nothings 100% reliable, but worrying bout playin online is going to be bad as not having live so you mise well think ive took the risk so i should now just get on with it lol!
