Probs with a new monitor

Right, recently purchased a new PC from mp3boy.

Not sure whhat motherboard it is right now, but will find it out and edit accordingly.

My Dell 17" CRT works fine with it.

However, when trying to use my GF's old 15" TFT from an eMachines PC (made by proview)

It powers on for a split second and although the power remains there are no visuals.

I cant even look at settings on the monitor as it powers off immediately.

Went to try different refresh rates and the monitor doesnt power up!!!!

Now for a dilemma, do I invest in a decent new one now and risk that breaking????????

Did you try the resolution 1024x768? That's the resolution used for 15" monitors.

Thats my standard resoloution for my 17"

Just found out - her family thought the PC was goosed because there was no dislpay.

They didnt even think to ask me to have a look.

AND I SPENT 2 HOURS TRYING TO CHANGE M Y REFRESH RATE!!!!
