help with 5.1 sound on sky+ please

hi all iv just set up my sky+ samsung 40" tv and samsung home cinema sound ht x30.

my trouble is i only get 5.1 sound when watching a dvd, not when im watching sky.

i think iv set it up right, its as follows

sky connected to tv via scart
tv connected to dvd via hdmi
dvd connected to sky via optical lead.

is this right, as im getting frustrated

have already emailed you (as you know), but if anyone else needs any help in future:

make sure the Sky+ box had "Dolby Digital" set for optical in the sound settings
make sure the programme you're watching has "DD" on the top of the bar when you press "i" otherwise it's either normal stereo or Dolby Digital 1.0, 2.0, 2.1, 3.0 or 3.1.
DD in the info bar means Dolby Digital 5.1 by Skys terms.
