urm some basic things, cos problems always simple, are you burning the iso or dvd file? cos it you need to burn the dvd file. what burner have you got,how old is it? is the burner firmware up to date on the burner?

Urm when i had that problem it was my burner cos it was bout 2 years old. when you say you off net do you mean ones you download burn fine? and when you say back ups, you backing up your original games?

its pretty new machine few months old not used very often for games
sorry not back-ups i meant iso's downloaded from ftp's but the inf says - Prepatched, stealth image + iXtreme compatible
- REGION FREE
so i didnt think id have to mess with them -just burn them

Silly question maybe, but what version of ImgBurn are you using .... if b4 V.2 , did you enter the layer break (1913760) in ImgBurn ?

See here (http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?showtopic=2831)for full details

well you could download xdvdmulleter(google) and that will check the ISO image to make sure everything is needed, stealth wise etc. but if your burners new and updated, and your burning dvd image i cant see what be wrong. And as phil has said check the layer break if you have an ealry version.

It has to be either a corrupted iso, bad spindle of Verbs (unusual) or the burner is faulty.

Try a few more isos and try a disk from another batch, just in case. Failing that maybe a new Pioneer for £20

"but ive just had some games back from net and they all play perfecltly"

Did you burn the working ones or did someone else?

for some reason if i put 360 on side sometimes the game will start-not always,
only 1 blank left at mo - dont want 2 waste it yet
nothing ive burnt works properly-only ones ordered from net working tidy
game im trying at mo is -
WWE_SmackDown_vs_RAW_2008_PAL_XBOX360-SPARE

I know the 360 was made so that you could out it on its side. I would really recommend against this though. You may end up with some badly damaged discs in the long run. Besides, you're just throwing another variable into the equation and making it more difficult to diagnose your problem.

You don't need to enter the layer-break at all. Simply load the *.dvd file. The less stuff you play around with the better. ImgBurn is really straight-forward .. load *.dvd file and hit Start.

entered layer break-worked first time

so that wasnt my problem

yes origionals work fine
pretty new 360 hardly ever used for games
so wouldnt have though drive dying but i dont know
i only sent dvd drive when got it flashed other day
so wasnt tested after flash
wonder if flash wrong or something
dont want to send complete 360 back in case nothing to do with flash

Benvo

Nah you said that game worked but then got dde? it wouldnt work at all if it wasnt flashed properly, when i had the dirty disk errors it was my dvd burner, but you said yours was farely new.

thanx for ur help
maybe it is my dvd burner but its burning verbatim dual layers fine no coasters yet,i dont want to go and buy new burner if nothing wrong with one i got,but it is strange that games ordered off net 3 of them play fine no problems at all ?

Benvo
01-20-2008, 12:59 PM
so games someone else have burned work fine?

Benvo

dale978
01-20-2008, 01:04 PM
yes i ordered 3 off net and havnt had any problems with them
i thought i was burning my iso's wrong.
id have though if my burner on way out it wouldnt burn d/l's properly ?

Benvo
01-20-2008, 01:18 PM
not exactly when my burner was dead it would either fail on the layer change over or id get dirty disk errors. it could also be a bad batch of disks though, cant you get a cheap pack of disks and just try them to see whether was your burner or a bad batch of disks.

I doubt that entering the layer break would have made any difference, as you are using v.2.32.0 .... from v.2.0 onwards this is done automatically.

What are the disks you got of the net that work ok .... i.e. Verbs or ?

Also what speed are you burning at .... have you tried 2.4 x ?

dale978
01-20-2008, 01:24 PM
yeah ill try different discs first
when ur burner on way out would it actually finish burnig the dual layer
and say burned successful ? id have thought if my burner dying it wouldnt complete the burn and tell me burn successful ?

Benvo
01-20-2008, 01:26 PM
yh and the games would work but when you get say half way through or go to start campaign on say the darkness it would bring up dirty disk error.

sorry didnt see post
discs i got off net were supposed to be verbatim but theyre printed dont know if verbatim do discs without verb written on disc but these have no name on them they supposed to be verbatim - always burn 2.4 x

Acheron

1- Are you using the Verify option on burns? Without it, a "successful" message doesn't mean a thing.

2- ImgBurn should give you the discid (MKM, CMC, etc). Let us know what the id is.

3- What firmware is your 360 flashed with?

4- Do originals and the 3 you got from someone else work since the flash?
