free rrod repair?

hi all, my 360 is freezing and crashing early into gameply or even at start up! the guy who chipped it said hell take the chip out, remove flash thing and i can send it backt to me so i can send i for free repair, im still waiting for it to be returned to me unchipped and details of how to get it repaired free and cant find anythingon the web? is he shitting me, what will i have to say when i phone the number or do the online repair request? its over 1 year old?

hi buddy,just tell ms that its got the 3 red lights and they will repair it for free,they will pick it up and send it back to you via UPS:)

They can tell by the guarentee seal, but my mate sent his back with one broken and just got his back sorted with new sticker on. you gotta think not all of them will be paid enough to care, but again there are odds times they refuse, but its broken anyway yh? what the worse they could do, send it back to you.

Just got mine back the other week mines was flashed and got the red rings and the just replaced the mobo and dvd drive as well no questions asked

Out of curiosity where are the warenty seals on the 360 anyway ???

Well the old stickers are under your faceplate, its silver and has microsoft wrote on it, new ones are green but duno where they are put as have not seem one yet.

well if you recently got it back and theres no sticker on it, you could ring them up stating that, someone on another forum said that happened to them and they rung up and they noted it down for the future.

ive sent 3 flashed ones off and they have done them all,ive even had the flashed drive back in one of them.
i have only ever sent one off with the sticker intact,they just dont care........infact they have one now.
how can they prove that it was you that took off the sticker,you could have bought it 2nd hand.
whether they notice if its been chipped or not i couldnt say,as ive only sent off flashed ones..

Just checked and the warrenty sticker is in place no matter though it will be getting flashed again shortly !!!

Sad to say but my 360 has just died on me. I was told by a bunch of people that its best to have it flashed back to the original before sending it in. So that is what im doing, Im going to have it flashed to the proper way, Then sent into MS to have fixed. I was just curious as to what the time frame is for them to have send it back to you?

It would be alot easier for me to just send it in flashed already, You think it would be ok for me to send it in with the flashed drive? Or should i go through the trouble of putting it back to normal before sending it out to them?

i think they say its a maximum 4 weeks but alot of ppl its 2 weeks i think. well i dont think they are going to pay the dude to put a backup and try it to see if its flashed, so how would they know?

Off topic question has anyone tried to send back one that was banned from live, and get one that worked on there?

To be honest i really dont think the workers are paid enough to go looking for flashed consoles, if they got the red lights they looking to fix that and as it not to do with dvd drive they should not look at it. As for second question some people have in past but appar now all the banned consoles are logged now, duno how true that is though.

Send it flashed. They can't tell unless they pop a copied game in there and as someone else mentioned I doubt they would do that. :) (a chip is another story, I'd say that's risky)

yh a chip you need to make sure anything was removed, obv i never seen a chip inside an 360, you would have to clean any solder up etc... Or whatevers applicable to the connections lol.

hi matey,you just print off the UPS label box up your 360 with no hdd no cables NOTHING just the 360.
stick the label to the box then ring UPS to arrange a day for pick and thats it matey:)

that i think that only if its banned tho, it you system is still live enabled then its 50/50 again, i had been told about this banned database but wont sure if was true lol.

yes only if bannned but mine got banned just through streaming from media pc so be carefull if your machine is chipped then i would think twice before connecting it to your network
not to sure if different chips will get over this as my machine has an old chip about 18mnths old

in the USA they send out boxes, in the UK they just email a label which you print out (or they'll post you one if you can't print) and stick on a box then call UPS who will collect for free

as far as I know the main chip available (NME) doesn't deal properly with stealth patches so will get you banned nowadays if you use it online

I have seen online services on google when i was looking up the 3 rrod, they charge about 49.99 to fix it. It could be worth it if your system is banned, and ms wont fix it?

Repair Status: Device Shipped to Customer

Im assuming that means everything went well they fixed it and returning it :). I think i will be receiving it on Monday-Tuesday will report back when i receive it

Also i was wondering how this works now... Say i receive my 360 back, and its not the same 360 that i sent in. Do i receive any warranty on this new 360 i received? Like do the 3 years start from when i purchase my original 360, or do the dates change if when i receive the replacement in the mail

i just got mine back this morning, thry replaced dvd drive and motherboard and either cleaned and fixed the case and faceplate memory card slot spring cos mine was broken and a bit dirty! also got a free month boxlive gold. the letter says any future problems use same ref number but no details on further warranty etc.

Just received it back, It was a replaced xbox360, So i will need to get it reflashed. I also received 1 month xbox live card to go with the system.

I checked online, seems like they give you 3 months warranty on the system, even though i didnt have any warranty on my old one.
