thinking of upgrading my pc to 512mb ,,,dont know much on the subject,,,i currently only have 128mb....the question is would this speed my pc up a lot and would broadband work faster....
i need the idiots guide !!!!!:)

You will notice a difference in performance with the ram increase but Internet will still be the same.

I've read somewhere it's better to install 2 X 256mb Memory rather than a single 512mb, Why, i don't know ?

actually, surfing the internet would be faster since you have more ram to cache in the webpage image but your download kb/s speed will stay the same :(

there will be a big increase if you use xp

2x256mb is only faster if your motherboard is dual channel, such as nforce2 boards, otherwise 1x512mb is more reliable as it draws less current

the main other advantage, of two versus one stick, is if one dies, then you have some resilience of course.
