ok i have d/l haunted mansion (avi format) and when trying to resample the audio virtualdub produces the error

the requested audio compression is not compatable with the input format. Check the channel count of the input match that of the requested format.

so i tried converting it with besweet which no matter what output file i choose besweet produces and error as well :

BeSweet v1.5b26 by DSPguru.
--------------------------
Error 51: Unable to get hip.dll interfaces
Quiting...
[00:00:00:000] Conversion Completed !
Logging ends : 04/28/04 , 11:23:31.

i am quite happy to convert thru multiple formats to get the result i want (vcd/dvd compliant 44100/48000) but would prefer vcd

has anyone got any tips/solutions/suggestions

thanx alot
OGGY

ps if u need more info just let me know

Sounds like it has 5.1AC3 which would definatly mean 48Khz. If you are having trouble with BeSweet you could try HeadAC3e.

hip.dll however is an mpeg audio decoder and I guess shouldn't even be needed for AC3 to mp2.

ok i have tried using headac3he but it is giving me an error

could not initalize lame with current settings

i have tried changing the output file to everything (wav/mp2 etc.)

the only time i dont get this error msg is when i select the output as wav then it tells me there is insufficent space on the destination drive

if you need my headac3he settings just let me know

Thanx again

Hmmm, 2 channel mp3. Don't know what was up with the channel count thing then. Also explains why you are having problems with mp3 decoding dll's.

Looks like a VCD re-encode, my advice would be just to delete it.

I think you miss understood me. I meant delete it and not redownload. I don't like VCD re-encodes.
