Internet explorer address problem

In the spirit of populating the page ...

I've just noticed that the grey strip at the bottom of IE which displays the address that a link points to has vanished. I've not changed any settings, but have unscrupulously used a regcleaner which I'm sure has screwed a few things up.

Anyone any ideas about getting it back?
