Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if there is an alternative to Windows Media Player, Real Player, Quick Time, etc. I'm sick of these players and would like to know what everyone is using.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Glide
Media Player Classic should fit the bill quite nicely. Looks like an old school Windows Media Player, but it's not crap! Will play everything including QuickTime & RealPlayer.

Coolplayer I've heard is pretty good.

Media Player Classic is good, but requires quicktime and realplayer or at least their codecs to be installed. Although certain quicktime files can also be played via dshow using the 3ivX splitter and say ffdshow/coreaac.
mplayer is about the only player I can think of that fully supports Quicktime, Real Media and pretty much everything that Windows Media Player supports all without the need to install anything. Just place the real and quicktime files in its codecs directory.
@-JS-, you suggesting that WMP 6.4 is crap?? Because it is still better than v7, 8 and 9.

Hell no! I still use 6.4 for previewing files, but I admit what I wrote sounded like that.
And yes, you will need to install extra stuff for Quick Time & Real Player - look for 'Real Alternative' and 'Quick Time Alternative', they should work just nicely.

K-lite should have all the codecs you'll ever need, and comes with WMP 6.4 bundled.

I wouldn't recommend the use of codec packs.
