Books for PC beginner

a mate of mine has just got a pc. he is a total beginnet to pc's so wants a good book to teach him the basics of windows xp & using internet explorer.

i've heard of 'windows xp for dummies' but any other suggestions?

Never tried them but saw an infomercial about some "video professor" cds that walk you through pc stuff.
