Had a few problems so I decided to re install WinXp Pro SP1. On start up I get this message and loading time is now more than double what it used to be.

SPRINGFLD_ADV_DAEMON:WksCal.exe-Entry point not found.

The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL.

Also Windows Media Player no longer works??

What is this? All help welcome.

A search revealed quite a few people that have the same problem but there were no definitive answers.
The error is thrown from WksCal.exe which is the Microsoft Works Calendar. There was a link in All Users/Startup folder which launched the Works Calendar Reminder services. This seemed to be the start of the chain.
The only solution that I can recommend is that you remove the Works Calendar Reminder from your startup.

After downloading all Windows Updates this seems to have disappeared and Player is working.
