What happens if I put Super Mario Galaxy in my wii ...............

That hasnt had the wiikey updated to the 1.9g firmware

I havent got a gamecube controller and to be honest im scared of f***ng it up

is it just a matter of downloading the 1.9g - putting it on a disc - then updating wii?

i dont play gamecube games on it or anything i just want to play all the wii games that are being released

basically it wont play if you put it in as it is, as far as im aware as long as you are on the latest firmware it wont brick your wii
download the firmware and if you look at quite a few posts below there are a lot of hints how to do it
i found out afterwards you dont need a gamecube controller to do the update.

you have to make it the size of a standard gamecube game, nicked this off another forum

1. Download the 1.9b update and 1.3 config files from wiikey.cn
2. Extract into separate folders.
3. Copy filechop.exe from the 1.3 config extraction into the 1.9b update folder.
4. Go to your command prompt and navigate to the 1.9b folder.
5. run filechop.exe wkupdate.1.9b.xx.iso 1459978240 (where xx is either PAL (http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/pal.cfm), JAP or US.

oh by the way that was for 1.9b but works the same for 1.9g too
no expert m8 but think it is to counteract the new protection they are puttingh on games so think you might have to do it at some point
i thought id bricked mine as i did some strange update but it went fine
it does check first to see if the update will install ok so its worth trying it to that far and see how you go

The 1.9g firmware update file there is no need to filechop. I burnt the image direct with IMGBURN and it worked fine.

what kind of disk is needed please ive got tuffdisc +r x16 burnt at 4speed and they dont work ive tryed four times do i just burn the iso or the file called wiikey 1.9g update
