do you get an ERROR?
well you would need an mpeg2 codec for it to work. do you have any dvd software like powerdvd installed? if not install it and it should be ok.
the other option is that you may be expecting it to autoplay. try browsing in windows explorer to the folder with the mpeg file in and play it manually.

Need more than just an MPEG2 codec. Either need one with a build in riff/cdxa parser or a seperate one.
Try Media Player Classic. It has a built MPEG2 decoder and parser.

Yep, the default MS MPEG1 decoder has a built in parser. The one in MPC should work for pretty much any file though such as MKV's, OGM's or MP4's burnt mode2 form2.
