Anyone help with what the following means please?

My mate has just installed Grand Theft Auto on to his machine but he is getting an error as it loads up saying the he needs 12mb of video memory ??? Anyone help out here please???

He needs a video card with at least 12mb of memory :).
Assuming its GTA3 or vice city, if he wants the game to be playable ull need atleaset a GF4 w/ like 64mbs.
If its just GTA1 than damn, his comp must suck :)
