View Full Version : Error on laptop something about pressing F2 to Resume

basically when the laptop starts i get this
"Pri Master Hard Disc: SMART Status BAD, Backup and Replace.
Press F2 to Resume"
so now i press f2 and then from theer esc and then say N (no) to save changes and the laptop goes back to normal but recently for no reason the latop just cuts off especially when i open a program up?
any advise plz

You could try system restore, if it will run, or restore to facotry settngs with the restore discs. Otherwise would be easier to have the HDD checked out.

This sounds like a warning that the hard drive failure is imminent.

Take heed !!!!!
At the very least, you should download the diagnostic tool from the hard drive manufacturers web site and run it to confirm this.
If confirmation is affirmitive, then you should initiate solutions to secure the data that is important from the drive and replace the drive.
Ignoring this warning can have potential dire consequences.

hard drive failing aka servo system
to many errors on the hard drive
do a scandisk and check if there any errors to repair

sorry for the late reply
done a scan disc ( i think)
where the compuer needs to be restarted does 5 stages of checking and on stage 5 of 5 it frozze on 53%
what can i do now
will check about he hard drive manufacture right now as soon as i install the net on it
as i just done a clean install and still giving me the message
