Got 3 red lights in june, used towel method, which kept me going for a while, then in july i had to send it away to microsoft.
My 360 was flashed, and i had read that new units were being posted out with new drives that cannot be flashed.
It came back over a week ago and has been sitting there, i hadnt even switched it on.
got my m8 some "backups" for his machine ,(halo 3 and bioshock)

Decided last night to check my machine worked before i stuck it on Ebay.
Just out of curiosity i stuck in Halo 3 Backup, and you guessed it , IT works!!!!

when this 360 came back i could have sworn it was a new unit, the case was new, as mine was scratched . The silver drwer tray and IR reciever had plastic stickers on it (like a new one)

I really cant believe it, im going through all my games just now to make sure, but theres no question , it looks like they have replaced case and motherboard, but left the flashed drive in !!

I don't know why people hate Bill so (well apart from the money and the power vs ginger thing), nearly all his software is free and even his hardware seems to just keep on giving :D

I think the exact same thing has happened to me m8 except i know its my console cause it's still got two wholes on the unit where my dual firmware switch used to be fitted lol.

Sent mine away two weeks ago due to RRoD and it came back yesterday. I'm not 100% if they have fixed it but it defo sounds different and it now obviously works...Plus its still flashed!!

Just got mine back today - only been a week since it was picked up! Opened it up and there is a new motherboard with extra heatsink and heavier more powerful cooling fan...noticed the drive was a Samsung, they gave me my flashed drive back!! Tried a backup just to make sure and booted like before!!!!! Nice one I am well pleased!!

So the fact that you broke the warrenty sticker wont have any effect on your claim?

Also if this is the second time you have returned it you will be offered "copensation"

Will see what they say when I send it back again, I have a chrome case so when I got it back after it died the 1st time I swapped it with the chrome case so took the warranty sticker off...didn't think it would die again see...I am waiting on them phoning me back - for some reason they need to, will let you know what happens when I send it back again...will take the warranty sticker off completely and if they say anything I will say I have not opened it! Maybe they will offer me something, another wireless controller would be handy!

if you get one from the shops that has an HDMI port it'll have the new motherboard too

Received mine back today. They replaced the motherboard and I have a new BenQ drive aswell :uhwell:. Still the same old case. They even gave me back the custom front plate I was trying to get rid. Somehow they have managed to break the plate so I'll get them to replace that.

Do the BenQ drives open differently as half way through the eject sequence the drives opening process seems to slow down?

Im a little worried while struggling to understand each other im sure she said to send it back in its orig box.....

is this right as it seems like sending £200 in a transparent envelope...

Just send it back in any old box. I would keep your original box if I was you as they will most probably keep that.

On furthur inspection my 360 is battered. Apart from my front panel being broken, the side grill panels have the legs broken off and I presume one of the broken legs is rattling inside the machine. If its not one of the leg its something else in there.

My USB slot was broken when i got mine back. Seems they are just throwing them about the palce until they are fixed!

I know it's slightly OT but I recently had the same problem and wasn't about to sacrifice my flashed Hitachi V47DJ. So I did the true 3ROD fix (not the lame towel trick). I removed and replaced the X-Clamps with bolts and washers and re-did the thermal paste. Much more permanent and effective than the towel trick and the best part is that there is no gamble with your hardware.

Just an update on mine...finally got it back, seems they have changed the motherboard again but this time I have a BenQ drive. Oh well at least they did fix it again for me! And I got a free wireless controller for it being my second repair!!

hi my 6 months old elite will not display anything on tv. ive tried different hdmi cables and tvs but still the same!
my question is , will it be ok to send back to ms even though its flashed??
