what's this error and how do i fix it?

recently installed a xenium chip on my xbox and it worked fine, but know i get error 12 on call MS screen. theres a 12 on the upper left corner. Now my dvd rom will not eject nor open. Can some one help me with this problem. Thanks

I'd open up the xbox and make sure that the ide cables and power connectors for the rom drive are all connected properly- unplug them all and replug them in- if that doesn't work, I'm pretty sure the rom drive is knackered

what does rom drive is knackered mean. After consulting my urban dictionary I came up with this:

knacker
Multifarious word with a plethora of uses. Can mean

A) very tired (of a person, usually in past tense),
B) broken or injured (of a thing or body part, usually in past tense),
C) testicle, singular (knackers plural),
D) a person who kills and disposes old and worn out horses before they are buried and/or rendered into glue.

Man, if you were using the latest Xecuter bios, they have the DVD-rom drive check disable so even if there isn't a DVD-rom drive in the xbox, it will still boot! What bios are you using? and don't tell me you only flash one bios on your modchips becuase i know you can possible put up to 4 bios on your modchip.

anyways, doesn't xenium boot to its OS first then it boot to the error screen? if so, find a way to flash your bios.

oh well, just read some spec on it:

"4. Bios Flashing: Through browsing of HDD or using separate CDROM"

guess you can't flash it then :) go to walmart, get you a new xbox, go home, open it, take out the dvd-rom drive from the new and put it in the old, then put the old dvd-rom drive and put it in the new one, repack the new xbox, put it back in the box and return it. I bet 100% wal-mart will give you a full refund :D
