any ideas how to do this, m8 got his wedding pics on a dvd but its a movie type slideshow and not the normal cd with all the picture files, they want to print them out without having to screen capture every frame...

If the disk is in normal DVD format .... i.e. a VIDEO_TS folder, with .ifos, .bups & .vobs, it's gonna be long winded and the quality of the end product may be too poor for printing purposes.
You could try playing the DVD in Power DVD or similar and using the snapshot option for a few shots and check out the quality, but dont expect too much.

yeah, the maximum resolution of the images will be 720x576 and will have mpeg compression so will look awful, like they've been taken on a 0.4 megapixel camera!

If done by a Pro they probably used ProShow Producer to make the DVD and in the settings there *is* an option to include the original photos in a folder on the disc - which I *always* select for obvious reasons. Check for a folder named "SHOW_1" on the DVD, this and the usual AUDIO_TS/VIDEO_TS folders are all that's usually on there.
As the others have said, if said seperate photos are not on there then there's no way you can do it and get great results sadly. :(
