View Full Version : DIVX converting probs
I'm using VSODivx2dvd to convert so i can copy using Nero, but everytime i try and convert it starts and after about 10mins it completly closes my PC down and i have to turn off at mains and turn it back on again, Anyone known why this is??
Can i copy divx using nero straight from it instead of having to convert it?

needs to be converted to dvd to watch on standalone player unless player is divx compatable, some are normally says on front of player. sounds as if your copy of divx2dvd is conficting with other software try reinstalling or look for another program like dvdsanta or winavi
I have downloaded both of the above programs ans they are doing the same thing???
i am getting so frustrated about it :(

Is this happenin on all files or just this one ?
What are your system specs ? and are you running anything else when this happens ?

Like phil says, is it happening when you try to convert something else, or is it just this film thats giving you problems. If its doing it with any film then it could point to a hardware problem ie memory, psu, even more so if you have to disconnect it from the mains before you can get it going again, personaly never had to do this even with a conflict, also have you installed any new hardware recently?

also does it do this with all divx or are you trying just 1 - if 1 try another as it may be corrupt
Hiya
It happens with all DIVX movies, just had a look at what my system is and it's
AMD 2200+ 1.50GHz
512mb ram
on board graphics and sound.( i think i need to upgrade looking at that now lol)
Not installed any new software or hardware neither.

It could be a memory issue or possible overheating.
Try swapping out the ram, if you have another available.

I also think of memory problem more than anything else like Phil said. Overheating and RAM error are the two most likely causes. Also, encoding video on a 2200+ system that's running WinXP with only 512MB RAM will put a lot of stress on the system.

Don't like stating the obvious, but are you sure theres enough free disc space.
Got about 20 gig of HDD left, PC fair on this sunday so i may i may get 1 gig Ramm, just hopefully it will be ok on my motherboard
