Just put an alladin chip in one of these. Everything went fine as far as that goes ava and apps load fine. The problem is when I boot with the modchip turned off I get error 16 [- dashboard - Other files to do with dashboard / dashboard settings (specific dashboard error)] I made sure that the hdd is still locked.

So I erased everything in the C: drive and reloaded it and it still does the same thing. Is there a new version of ms dash that I need or something?

kernel version: 1.0.4979.6

how do I see which version I have of ms dash?

btw when using boxplorer I can boot up the ms dash, just not with chip disabled.

I took the ms dash from my "xbox live" xbox and updated the halo box with that and it now works. Just strange I've always used the same backup of the older dash on 1.4s and 1.5s before with no problem.

...The Kernal has an impact on the Dash version, hence why u needed to install the latest 'Live!' Dash to get it to work.

...btw your Kernal version is old, or incorrectly listed, which is strange for a new Xbox!!!!

...Shows they must of used up 'old' parts to create your Halo L.E, or u haven't listed the correct number!!!

To find out your Kernal version u need to be in the M$ dash.

...Hit the system info tab and let it scroll through the legal bit.

...At the bottom u will see: K =
D =

...Make a note of these numbers as these are your Kernal and Dash versions :)

Oh and 'yes' smokeafatty has definately listed a number which isn't a kernal or dash number.

...Please re-list fatty!

My bad, I just saw the kernal version in the avalaunch settings and figured that was it. Heres the real ones:

K= 1.00.5713.01

D= 1.00.5659.03
